NicheLens
Decide which YouTube channel idea is worth building. A desktop app that runs on your own computer, with your own YouTube key.
What it does
Give NicheLens a YouTube channel. It shows how the channel really performs, an estimated earnings range, and whether it is rising or fading. It also finds similar channels and young channels taking off in a niche.
- Channel lookup. Subscribers, views, upload rhythm, channel age, and every video ranked by how far it beats the channel's usual pace.
- Earnings estimates, honestly labelled. A range based on the channel's niche. Always an estimate, never real revenue.
- Opportunity Checks. A plain-language assessment on originality, ease of entry, earning potential and momentum, ending in one recommendation: worth a try, worth adapting, or not worth trying. It is advice, not certainty.
- Find channels worth studying. Rising Channels, Similar Channels, and side-by-side Compare. Each shows its YouTube quota cost before it runs.
- 55 built-in niches with typical earnings rates. Edit them, add your own, import and export as CSV.
- Yours and local. No server, no account, no subscription. Your data stays on your computer.
What you need
- A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later), or a Windows PC. Intel Macs, Windows on ARM and Linux are not supported.
- A free YouTube Data API key from Google. NicheLens walks you through getting one.
- For Opportunity Checks only: Claude Code, a separate Anthropic product, with a paid Claude plan (Pro or higher) or API credits. NicheLens has no AI of its own: your own Claude writes the check. Everything else works without Claude.
Good to know. The installers are not code-signed yet, so Windows and macOS show a warning the first time you open NicheLens. The install guide takes you through it step by step.
